Having home advantage, Choo and Somerville came out with a confidence that meant business. Winning the first game in extension, the crowd settled in for what was to become the match of the day, a 53-minute blinder.

Number one seed, Tiffany Ho had a hard road to hoe against the strong and calculating Yue Yann Jaslyn Hooi in the women’s singles semifinal. On the other side of the draw, Australian junior Sydney Tjonadi could not back up her impressive win yesterday, going down to a very inform Ying Tse.

The women’s doubles final will be a dynamic encounter featuring the ever entertaining Australian pair of Setyana Mapasa and Angela Yu after they dispatched the twins from Chinese Taipei in the semifinal. They will however face another young pair from Chinese Taipei after they came through in a comfortable win in their match.
