In the sports sector, volunteers are key to the success of programmes and event activations, spanning across grass roots to elite level performance. Our Pacific-based Member Associations are largely run by volunteers who are instrumental in their success and development.
Serve-ing Pacific is our volunteer recognition programme. The initiative was launch in December 2021 (aligned with World Volunteer Day) and starts with a nomination process. The window to nominate a deserving volunteer is available two times per year (October and April), you can find out more details on how to nominate below.
Bringing Badminton Oceania’s values of Innovation, Excellence, Leadership, Integrity and Inclusiveness to the forefront, the initiative aims to bring the volunteers who excel in one of those areas and tell their side of the story in helping to make a difference to others lives through badminton.
Committee members of the Pacific-based Member Associations are given the opportunity to nominate individuals who could go on to win a prize. Each month, one winner is selected by a panel of Badminton Oceania’s Head Office staff and Executive Board, who will be profiled and receive a lunch in a local café and restaurant. Moreover, every six months, the previous winners over that last six-month period will be placed into a random prize draw where one winner will be drawn to win a grand staycation prize (terms and conditions are available here).
