After a busy first day at the VICTOR Oceania Individual Championships 2024, day two started early with women’s singles. Round two brought seeded players to the court, displaying their talents in front of an appreciative Geelong crowd.
Victoria Tjonadi had an incredible start to her campaign, showing her skills and stamina against seasoned Australian player, Louisa Ma. Seeded third, Ma kept herself in the match, but Tjonadi wanted it more.
“I went into the game with no expectations, and I wanted to give it my best go, it was great to be able to win as she is a really good player” Tjonadi said of her match.

Ken Richardson may not have known much about his young opponent from New Zealand before their match, however Raphael Deloy went in with a plan not to be easily forgotten. Taking the first game, Deloy moved to the second with confidence but couldn’t keep pace with the more experienced Richardson. With the match going to a third and final game, Deloy could not secure the win this time around.
