Biography:
I started playing Badminton when I was 10. My Granny, Mum and two older sisters would play but I had to wait till I was 10 to be able to go along to club night. I started representing Canterbury at 11 and then all through juniors, divisons and now masters. It was in 2014 I had an tragic accident playing badminton, I took a shot around my head, twisted and prolapsed my back. Which lead to 3 back surgeries and paralysis below my knee on my right leg. Although I think it my have something to with a car serious accident I had 6 years earlier, that I walked away from unharmed. Or so I thought and last twist finished off what damage I may have accused then. So after I learnt to walk again, I knew the next step I had to conquer was getting back on a Badminton court. Badminton has played a huge part in my recovery physically and mentally. And being able to play para badminton has made a long lost dream come true. To represent New Zealand in badminton.
