On day two of the Dubai International Challenge, Australia’s Wendy Chen became the last player standing from Oceania.
Alongside Mitchell Wheller, the pair went down to a strong Danish pair in two games, before Wendy returned to court and celebrated an emphatic victory against the higher ranked Fabienne Deprez from Germany. Deprez is currently ranked 72 to Wendy’s 84.

Wendy will take on the first seed from Turkey, Neslihan Yigit, in the third round. The match takes place from 2.40pm local time (GMT+4), follow her progress on Tournament Software.
Meanwhile, the winners from this year’s Oceania Tour, Simon Leung and Mitchell Wheller, were fresh from a semi final appearance at last week’s Bahrain International 2019.
However, the fourth seeds faced an early upset as their Thai opponents retaliated after dropping the first game, storming through the second and third games to cause another big upset on day two – where the top three seeds in the Men’s Singles also fell.
