Further to the BWF tournament update on 25 May 2021, the BWF wishes to advise that the following tournaments have been cancelled in consultation with the relevant Hosts and Continental Confederation.
Tournament Update 2021 – Cancellations
- Bendigo International 2021 – Bendigo – 14 – 19 September
- Sydney International 2021 – Sydney – 21 – 24 September
- MONNIS Mongolia Junior and International Challenge 2021 – Ulaanbaatar – 22 – 26 Sept
- MONNIS Mongolia International Challenge 2021 – Ulaanbaatar – 28 Sept – 2 Oct
Four months ago, Badminton Australia had successfully filed an application to upgrade the two Grade 3 tournaments scheduled to take place in September 2021, with the Bendigo International upgraded from an International Series to an International Challenge, while the Sydney International was upgraded from a Future Series event to an International Series.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt the tournament calendar and it is not currently feasible for the tournaments to go ahead at this time.
