Nynette Sass from Samoa was awarded the POWA (President of Oceania Women’s Award) at the Oceania Annual General Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand in May 2018.

Nynette has been very instrumental in the rejunivation of badminton in Samoa, it is thanks to Nynette that we have badminton on the programme for Pacific Games 2019.
Nynette is Chair of the Samoa Women in Sports Committee and a Board Member of ONOC Women in Sports Associations of Oceania.
Nynette was also the Chef de Mission of the Samoa team to Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast.
A very busy lady who is passionate about sport and women in sport.
