Biography:
I started out as a soccer player around the age of 6 or 7 and continued until I was 12, when I had to stop due to an injury. After I healed, I came across a school badminton tournament. I had known about badminton and used to play casually with friends outside my house, so I thought joining the school tournament would be fun.
At the time, I was in 7th grade (2021). I decided to try out and that’s when I met my coach—someone who has played a big role in my journey. The tournament experience was fun and eye-opening. I learned a lot, made friends, and really enjoyed competing.
After that, I didn’t play much because I wasn’t sure what to do next. I planned to try again the following year. When 8th grade came, my coach encouraged me to try out for the NMI team. I thought about it, gave it a shot, and made it in. Being part of a national team for the first time made me feel proud and motivated to do my best.
Since then, I’ve decided to fully pursue badminton. This sport has given me opportunities, growth, and amazing friendships—and I’m thankful for that.
Interesting Fact:
I used to play soccer and practice taekwondo. Since 2015, I’ve also been an altar server at my church, which is something I’m proud of and enjoy doing.
