The seeding list for the VICTOR Oceania Championships 2025 has now been released, showcasing what will be on offer from across the Oceania region.
Men’s Singles:
New Zealand’s Edward Lau leads the charge as the only local player within the top eight seeds. As the 2024 men’s singles champion he has cause to be watching his back. Australian’s Jack Yu, Ricky Tang, and Nathan Tang will be aiming to cause an upset as they hunt down Lau to bring Australia to the top of the podium. The 2024 runner up, and now senior Falcon, Shrey Dhand comes in at 8th seed, looking to create some upsets as he makes his way through the draw to hopefully make the 2025 podium.

Women’s Singles:
The tables turn in the women’s singles with Australia dominating three of the top four positions. 2024 champion, Tiffany Ho takes the top spot once again, with runner up, New Zealand’s Shaunna Li, solid in third. Constantly improving, Kai Qi (Bernice) Teoh will be bringing her strong style to the court as she represents her country.

Men’s Doubles
Runner up in 2024, New Zealand’s Adam Jeffrey and Dylan Soedjasa will be working to take that position one step further. Jack Yu, also playing for the Australian team in the VICTOR Oceania Team Championships preceding the individuals, pairs up with seasoned campaigner, Mark Edison in the position of number one seed.

Women’s Doubles
Australian junior Falcon’s and sisters, Sydney & Victoria Tjonadi may be young, but their experience on the court as a pair cannot be underestimated. They will need to call on their talent if they come up against second seeds, the experienced Gronya Somerville and 2024 Olympian, Angela Yu. Yu will be defending her 2024 title while Somerville will be working toward one better than last year where she was runner up with then partner, Kaitlyn Ea.

Mixed Doubles
After securing first position in the mixed doubles, Lau and Li, who are a well-established pair, have the 2024 runner up title to improve on. With three New Zealand pairs in the top four positions, the Australians will certainly be looking to spoil the party for the local players. One half of the 2024 championship pair, Gronya Somerville will play with New Zealander, Vincent Tao in a bid to make the podium.
