Badminton Oceania is pleased to announce the participants on the 2025 Oceania Technical Officials Development Programme.
This programme has been in place since 2022 with the objective of supporting Umpires and Referees who have been nominated by their National Technical Officials Committee as having the potential to attain BWF status in the future. There is a significant age consideration when selecting participants as the pathway from national level to BWF can take anywhere from 8-12 years with BWF having restrictions on the age in which they will accept people to undertake assessment.
Three New Zealander’s have been added to the programme for 2025: Umpires – Lisa Collins and Chanmony Khieng, Referee – Simon Lin, They will join existing members of the programme as listed below.
An enhancement to the programme for 2025 has been to break it into three stages:
Stage 1 is for national qualified Umpires and Referees
Stage 2 is for Oceania accredited qualified Umpires and Referees
Stage 3 is for Oceania certificated qualified Umpires and Referees
People may join the programme at any of the three stages based on meeting the set criteria
