Wheelchair athletes rolled into the day with high expectations and a winning look in their eye. With some of the women’s and men’s events combined, meaning men and women play against each other, it was an opportunity for some challenging matches.
After recently returning to Australia from international tournaments, Grant Manzoney and relative newcomer to the sport of Para Badminton, Martin Ford have kept their doubles chances alive of appearing on the podium come finals day along with fellow Australian players Qambar Ali Akhteyari and Lochan Cowper. Both pairs have not yet been challenged but are likely to play each other in the finals.
