Robbie Thackham has commenced his role with Badminton Oceania as Coaching and Development Manager and we have moved offices to a larger space
Robbie has recently gained his BWF Level I Coach Tutor and Level II Coache qualifications and will use this knowledge and expertise to lead the Oceania coach educaton and player development programmes. He will also be working in the area of para-badminton as we build towards having representation in Tokyo in 2020.
Robbie will work closely with Development Manager Nadia, who will continue to over-see the Shuttle Time programme, PSP projects and the establishment of new member countries.
Secretary General Julie Carrel is very happy with the additional HR resource into the organisation; “By bringing another person on board this enable us to provide more services to our Member Countries to enable them to develop and grow the sport within their country”.
The Badminton Oceania office has also moved a very short distance – 50m – but to larger premises, which are shared with Badminton NZ Auckland based events staff. The new address is 3 Robert Street, Ellerslie, Auckland
