Biography:
I started badminton at the age of 12 in a club in Tahiti in 2015. I started with youth competitions, offered by clubs and the federation, which gave me a taste for challenge and the desire to surpass myself. And by the end of my 3rd youth competition, I’d managed to beat other players of the same age within a year. In 2016, a great friend took me under his wing and introduced me to senior competitions at a higher level. This gave me the desire to continue and train even harder. And that year, I was spotted by the coach, who offered me the chance to train with the selection from time to time, until I was fully accepted. The Oceania in February 2018 was my first selection in New Zealand, where I really enjoyed competing at another level and the travel that went with it. Thanks to the selection I was able to participate in many tournaments such as the Oceania, the Pacific Games and Mini Games and also the World Championships. I’m currently studying in France, where I continue to train and take part in tournaments to keep progressing and, above all, have fun. I’m still part of this selection which allows me to see the world and compete against other levels.
Interesting Fact:
From the age of 3, I did Tahitian dance until I decided to stop and devote myself entirely to badminton. At each selection, I always tried to do a little dance for the other teams, to represent our culture. And the only time the team played the game was at the 2022 Pacific Mini Games. But I’m determined to make it happen at every competition!
