The seeding report and version two of the M & Q for the ROKETTO Sydney International 2024 has now been released, showcasing what will be on offer during the second week of international badminton in Australia.
Men’s singles:
International players in the men’s singles at the ROKETTO Sydney International are lifting the intensity, restricting Oceania players from the top 10 positions. Continuing his reign as number one seed, Soong Joo Ven (MAS) will once again sit above Kuo Kuan Lim (TPE). Knocking Wang Po-Wei (TPE) off the number three position is Luis Ramon Garrido (MEX) who injects himself into the top four.

Women’s singles:
As at the YONEX Bendigo International 2024, the top four positions are dominiated by the women from India. Wanting to defend her 2023 title, Yue Yann Jaslyn Hooi (SGP), although not seeded, will be looking to make some waves in Sydney, upsetting the strong Indian contingent. Runner up in 2023, New Zealand’s Shaunna Li is also back in hunt for a women’s singles title at this year’s ROKETTO Sydney International 2024.

Men’s Doubles:
One of the 2023 men’s doubles champion pair from Chinese Taipei are back to attempt back to back wins. Chen Cheng Kuan, now partnering with Po Li-Wei are not seeded within the top four positions, however experience can have an advantatge. In the number one position are the Indian pair of Amsakarunan and Rethinasabapathi who hold that position from the YONEX Bendigo International being played the previous week. Moving up to the second seed position is the Australian pair of Hidayat and Putra who bring a high intensity and exciting style to the court. Rounding out the top four are Japanese pair Inoue/Kawabe..

Women’s doubles
Chinese Taipei stand strong in the top two positions in Sydney. Entering the top four are Australian sisters Sydney and Victoria Tjonadi. These young women have continued to grow in their chosen sport, with a position of number three in seeding a testament to their hard work. Experienced campaigner Gronya Somerville and relatively new women’s doubles partner, Nozomi Shimizu move down one place from Bendigo to complete the top four pairs.

Mixed doubles
Chen Cheng Kuan and Hsu Yin-Hui (TPE) are back in 2024 after reaching the semi finals in 2023. Securing the number one seeded position will help boost confidence levels as they look to go further in the draw this year. Dhruv Kapila and Tanish Crasto (IND) take second spot while the Oceania pairs of Edward Lau/Shuanna Li (NZL) and Rayne Wang/Kaitlyn Ea (AUS) round out the top four.
