The draws for the VICTOR Oceania Individual Championships 2019 (Open and Junior) has been approved by the tournament referees and are now available to view.
Kickstarting a week of the region’s finest badminton, the Individual Championships take place from 11 – 14 February 2019 at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatics Centre before the mixed team event begins on 15 February 2019.
The junior players will be the first to walk on court from 10am on Monday 11 February. With one of the largest entries in the history of the regional competitions, we are expecting some close competition and wonder whether this could be the first year that a player outside of Australia and New Zealand could stand on top of the podium in any of the individual events across the junior and open competitions.
All disciplines see the top seeded players granted a bye into the second round, apart from in the mixed doubles in the open category where exactly 32 pairs have been accepted into the draw.
