Australia’s Caitlin Dransfield and Céline Vinot had an impressive run in Turkey, after finishing second in the women’s doubles SL3 – SU5 group C to earn a position in the quarter-finals.
However, their journey came to an end in the quarter-finals as they came up against the first seeds from Indonesia, Leani Ratri Oktila and Khalimatus Sadiyah Sukohandoko, where they went down 21-1 21-6.
The Australian pair will benefit from world ranking points as they look to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games – this tournament in Turkey being the first tournament in the qualifying period.
The players will now travel to Dubai to compete in the 2nd Fazza- Dubai Para-Badminton International 2019 next week.
