Nauru Badminton is on the rise as a group of badminton enthusiasts formed a board to oversee the development of badminton within the country.
Nauru is one of the sixteen members of Badminton Oceania, however, the federation has not been active for a number of years.
Following the support from Badminton Oceania and Nauru Badminton’s eager President, Marissa Cook, they have officially been recognised by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and Badminton Oceania as an ‘active’ member, with the Shuttle Time programme high on their agenda to kick start the movement.
The appointment of seven board members and their work so far has even seen Nauru Badminton being formally recognized by the Nauru Olympic Committee.
