The CROWNE PLAZA Northern Marianas Open 2025 and CENTURY INSURANCE Saipan International 2025 are set to deliver two thrilling weeks of international badminton in Saipan, with elite athletes from around the world competing for glory. The M + Q has been released for both tournaments. From rising stars to seasoned Olympians, this year’s competitors promise high-intensity rallies, tactical brilliance, and unforgettable moments on court.

Men’s Singles
In The CROWNE PLAZA Northern Marianas Open, Korea’s Jeon Hyeok Jin leads the Men’s Singles field as World No. 37. A Paris 2024 Olympian and former Korea Masters champion, Jeon brings over a decade of experience and a reputation for tactical precision and powerful baseline play. India’s Subramanian is a former World Junior silver medalist and one of the sport’s most exciting young prospects. Fellow Indian Maisnam adds firepower and flair, known for his aggressive style and sharp net play. With this trio at the top, the Men’s Singles draw is set for a fierce battle.
With Jeon not returning for the CENTURY INSURANCE Saipan International, the field opens up for the likes of Malaysia’s Kok Jing Hong (World No. 77), or Israel’s Misha Zilberman (World No. 79) to upset the field.

Women’s Singles
India’s Tanya Hemanth headlines the Women’s Singles draw as World No. 86. Calm and composed under pressure, she captured the Women’s Singles title at the YONEX Bendigo International 2024 and continues to rise through the ranks. Japan’s Sakura Masuki, the second highest ranked player, returns to Saipan after finishing runner-up in 2024. With her sharp footwork and intelligent shot-making, she’s determined to go one better this year. Peru’s Inés Castillo, World No. 94, brings international pedigree as a Paris 2024 Olympian and Pan Am Games bronze medalist, adding depth and experience to the field.
Of the top five ranked players, only Hemanth will play both tournaments.
Men’s Doubles
Japan’s Kakeru Kumagai and Hiroki Nishi top the Men’s Doubles draw, ranked World No. 83. With over 26,000 ranking points and a reputation for fast-paced, coordinated play, the duo has made their mark on the BWF circuit. Their chemistry and attacking style make them the pair to beat in Saipan.

Women’s Doubles
Chinese Taipei’s Teng Chun Hsun and Yang Chu Yun enter as the most noticeable in Women’s Doubles, ranked World No. 26. With over 36,000 ranking points, they bring elite-level experience and a commanding presence on court. Known for their seamless teamwork and aggressive front-court play, Teng and Yang are strong favorites to take the title.
Mixed Doubles
New Zealand’s Edward Lau and Shaunna Li lead the Mixed Doubles field as the highest ranked duo. Ranked World No. 99, the Oceania pair combines Lau’s power and court coverage with Li’s sharp net play and tactical awareness. Denmark’s Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Bøje, former top-10 players, bring world-class credentials as European Games medalists. The pair are only competing in the CROWNE PLAZA Northern Marianas International. With their dynamic style and international experience, they’ll be looking to make a strong statement in their first appearance since Christiansen’s administrative suspension prior to the Paris 2024 Olympics.
