The Badminton Oceania Auckland office and staff had an enjoyable week last week hosting Nynette Sass, President of Samoa Badminton.
Nynette has been leading the revival of badminton in Samoa and thanks to a 2016 Women in Badminton scholarship was able to spend time with the Badminton Oceania staff going over plans, programmes and BWF Shuttle Time training.
It was a busy week, covering Governance/Administration areas including BWF/BOC structures, strategic plans, OSEP Readiness Assessment Tool and an MA Agreement set for 2017.
Nynette was also introduced to Shuttle Time and trained as a Teacher, with both theory and practical sessions, including hugely positive feedback from delivery to local school children and teachers. Nynette is currently taking on the role of Samoa Shuttle Time Coordinator so was also trained in that role and planning began for implementation in Samoa – which will take place in July in conjunction with Badminton Oceania’s first Shuttle Time Coordinators workshop… exciting times ahead!!
