Badminton in Samoa is this week’s focus for Badminton Oceania’s Participation & Development Manager, Sam Kreutzer and Development Officer, Dhanny Oud. With assistance from the Badminton World Federation Member Association Grant Programme, the focus will be a Shuttle Time teachers’ course, Shuttle Time delivery sessions (using the skills learned), Air Badminton, player development sessions and meetings with stakeholders including the Samoa Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (SASNOC).
The focus of this activity is to reactivate Samoa Badminton’s Shuttle Time programme, increase the number of qualified teachers and enabling more children to participate and benefit from Shuttle Time and the future opportunities this can lead to. Several of the participants on the Shuttle Time Teachers course are from Special Olympics Samoa as they add badminton to the sports they deliver.
