Badminton was represented at last week’s Pacific Women’s Sports Leadership Program through Tonga’s Shuttle Time Coordinator Peti Tupouniua and Samoa’s revivalist Nynette Sass.
The week long program took place in Port Moresby, PNG – a joint initiative by Cricket Australia, Netball Australia and the International Cricket Council, funded through the Australian Government’s Pacific Sports Partnerships Innovation Funding.
It brought together female leaders from 13 different sporting organisations and 6 countries (Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Nauru, Samoa, Vanuatu and Tonga) to develop their leadership skills through sport, to directly impact on the lives of young women and girls in their communities.
Peti features in this news video too.
