GENDER EQUITY

Badminton Oceania actively supports participation of women and men in badminton at all levels of the sport – on and off the ‘field of play’.

Badminton Oceania is committed to strengthening gender equity across everything that we do with the aim of achieving a minimum representation of 40% of the under-represented gender.

Badminton Oceania is proud to have a strong balance between female and male participants across all areas: Executive Board, Staff, Technical Officials, Coaches, Administrators, Shuttle Time Trainers, Tutors and Teachers, Players and Volunteers. Data is collected from the most recent Annual Report.

This was awarded to honour the inaugural Badminton Oceania President – Heather Robson.

This is awarded to give recognition to any person (male or female) who are strong advocates of gender equity within badminton – either in their home country or within the wider Oceania region. Recipients contributed significantly to the promotion, development and advancement of gender equity within badminton with a particular focus on women and girls.

In 2022 the Executive Board expanded this award. Gender equity is standard practice across everything that Badminton Oceania and our Members do.
