The following events were scheduled to take place across Oceania in 2021, but were unfortunately cancelled following the global COVID-19 pandemic:

  • 2021 YONEX Australian Bendigo Invitational and Victorian Open
  • Sydney International 2021
  • Bendigo International 2021
  • Barfoot & Thompson New Zealand Open 2021
  • Crown Group Australian Badminton Open 2021
  • BWF World Junior Championships 2020 – postponed from the original dates in 2020, the event was ultimately cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Badminton New Zealand remain committed to hosting the BWF World Junior Championships in the near future and the BWF accepted a proposal to stage the 2024 edition in New Zealand as a replacement for this lost edition.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games went ahead in 2021, with six representatives from Australia competing across the Games:
