Manawatu badminton

Manawatu International (Cancelled)

1 – 4 December 2022

The Manawatu International (an International Series tournament) was scheduled to take place in the week following the New Zealand Open. However, due to the tournament’s cancellation and continuing complexities related to COVID-19, the Manawatu International 2022 has also been cancelled.

New Zealand Open (Cancelled)

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has confirmed that the BARFOOT & THOMPSON New Zealand Open 2022 scheduled for 22-27 November, has been cancelled. Badminton New Zealand concluded that it was no longer feasible for them to host their tournament this year due to organisational complications coming out of COVID-19.

15 – 20 November 2022

After a three year break due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the HSBC BWF World Tour 300 event is returning to Sydney in November 2022.

VICTOR North Harbour International 2022

20 – 23 October 2022

After a three year break due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the grade three tournament returns to Badminton North Harbour, although this time as an International Challenge (previously a Future Series).

The City of Bendigo, supported by Badminton Australia, are delighted to host their first grade three tournament at Bendigo Eaglehawk Badminton Association  (Victoria, Australia) welcoming players to their International Challenge tournament.

After a three year break due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Sydney International will return to Sydney’s Olympic Park in 2022 as an International Series tournament.

Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games

29 July – 8 August 2022

The 22nd edition of the Commonwealth Games — only the third in England after London (1934) and Manchester (2002) – will consist of a total of 19 sports events will be held over 11 days. Badminton, to be conducted at the National Exhibition Center (NEC), will be held over 23 sessions, with three medal sessions.

VICTOR Oceania Para Badminton Championships

29 – 31 July 2022

Badminton Oceania and Badminton Victoria are delighted to bring the VICTOR Oceania Para Badminton Championships 2022 to Melbourne Sports and Aquatics Centre. The Continental Para Badminton Championships last took place in 2020 in Ballarat, alongside the able-bodied Championships. Following the complications of the COVID-19 pandemic, neither tournament has been able to take place since. Under the new BWF Para Badminton tournament structure, these Continental Championships will become a Grade 3 tournament.

Northern Marianas Pacific Mini Games 2022

17-25 June 2022

The Pacific Mini Games 2022 have been rescheduled from their previous 2021 date following the global COVID-19 pandemic. The Multi-sport Games will include badminton, weightlifting, tennis, va’a, baseball, athletics, beach volleyball, triathlon and golf.

VICTOR Oceania Championships 2022 – INDIVIDUALS

The Open Individual tournament of our Continental Championships (originally scheduled for February 2022) will take place at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatics Centre in Victoria, Australia. Offering prize money for the first time, we are excited to resume our tournament calendar with these exciting Championships, for the first time since the global COVID-19 pandemic began.

Due to the ongoing uncertainties and complications surrounding the global COVID-19 pandemic, Badminton Oceania, in consultation with hosts Badminton North Harbour and the Badminton World Federation, are disappointed to announce that the VICTOR Oceania Championships 2022 (Individual events) have been postponed, while the Junior Individual and Mixed Team Championships, along with the Men’s and Women’s Team Championships have been cancelled.
